Norfolk- A New DePaul Medical Center
The focus of the new DePaul center involves building a “health care town center” in Norfolk. The facility is planned to be right-sized, in order to better meet the needs of the community. It will replace the oldest hospital in the region and integrate current building standards, new technology and new infrastructure into the new facility. This will ensure a safer and more pleasant environment that allows for continued presence of a hospital in its current location. The modern physical plant will offer high-quality, cost-effective services and allow for the continued ability to support the uninsured and underinsured.

The focus of the new Harbour View center will not only create a new “health care town center” that will expand types of surgeries and procedures, it will also enhance patient satisfaction and physician efficiency through the creation of a new, high-tech building that is convenient health care for residents of western Hampton Roads.

Virginia Beach Vision
The focus of the Virginia Beach initiative is to improve access for the growing population south of I-264. The plans calls for expanding the types of surgeries and procedures offered and for creating a new, high-tech building that will provide “hospital choice” in one of the fastest growing and most populous segments in Hampton Roads. This facility will also create a “health care town center”, making health care convenient to the community. Further, the facility will assist with caring for the underserved via a “Park Place-like” relationship in Virginia Beach.
